Stephanie KleyhCounsel

Stephanie Kleyh serves as Counsel in the firm’s Kansas City, Missouri Office, where she advises individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, probate, and trust administration. She brings a straightforward, client-centered approach to every engagement, working diligently to develop plans that are technically precise and meaningfully tailored to each client’s personal circumstances and long-term objectives.

Prior to joining Kirkland Hochstetler, Stephanie practiced at Sexton, Bender, Hill & Steinman, P.C. in the Kansas City area, where she counseled clients on a broad range of matters including estate planning, probate administration, business formation, corporate matters, income tax planning, and commercial and real estate transactions. Her practice encompassed wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, advance directives, decedent’s estates, and guardianships, as well as entity formation and succession planning for small business owners. That foundation — spanning both the legal and practical dimensions of planning — informs the holistic perspective she brings to client engagements at Kirkland Hochstetler.

Stephanie has been recognized as a Missouri Rising Star by Super Lawyers consecutively from 2019 through 2025. She is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Clay County Bar Association, the Platte County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, and the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City. She served as President of the East Clay Rotary Club in Liberty, Missouri, and is a graduate of the Association for Women Lawyers Connections Mentorship Program, Class of 2016.

Stephanie received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, with an emphasis in Business and Entrepreneurial Law from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law, where she served as Literary Editor of the UMKC Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, summa cum laude, with minors in Mathematics and Spanish, from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri.
